![]() ![]() Once again the space is immaculately decorated, the building itself originally was a music school so Paradox Project renovated the building while designing the room around it and it really shows: each room has its own purpose and a set of puzzles themed for it. Difficulty is a little easier than The Bookstore (personal opinion only, some might find it slightly harder). It is doable as a group of two, but once again I would recommend you have some escape room experience before trying it this way. The Music Academy is 180+ minutes in length and also designed for groups of 4-7 people. We did struggle with the last major puzzle, but our generous host gifted us some extra time so we could escape despite how late in the evening it was! Although more difficult than the mansion, the puzzles never felt illogical or unfair. The room itself looks like an actual bookstore (you even enter through a realistically decorated shop front) but as the story progresses, you are taken on an incredible journey through the clever use of space (I realise this is vague, but to say anything else would be spoiling it - it really is incredible). It’s doable as a group of 2 but only if you have a fair amount of escape room experience as the difficulty is quite a bit higher than the mansion. The Bookstore is 200 minutes in length and designed for groups of 4-7 people. There is lots of exploring to do as the game space is huge (an entire floor of a furnished apartment) and a lot of the puzzles involve finding items hidden within. The Mansion is 180 minutes in length and designed for 3-7 people but is quite doable as a group of 2 (we got out with 9 seconds remaining!). Hints were almost never direct answers but slight ‘nudges’ in the right direction (this might seem slightly frustrating initially but is much more satisfying in the long run). Hints from the game host are delivered via a smart phone which is provided at the start of all the games - the same hints are also displayed on monitors where thematically appropriate for the space. None of the rooms have any jump scares, although both the Bookstore and the Music Academy have some moments of tension and may not be appropriate for children.ĭue to the length of the rooms, all 3 had a break halfway through (you’re not required to take this if you don’t want to). We played all 3 Paradox Project rooms while vacationing in Athens, based on a lot of recommendations from various escape room enthusiast groups, and I cannot overstate how good all 3 experiences were - they are an absolute ’must-do’ if you have even a slight interest in escape rooms.Īll rooms are tourist friendly with instructions and text based puzzles written in both Greek and English. They explained any parts of the story that we didn't understand and we also talked about the games in general and their creation. Also they both had something very authentic, not only in the concept, but also the atmosphere and the puzzles.Īlso many thanks to our two game masters, with which we had great talks at the end of the games. It's pretty crazy how 3 hours (and 3 hours and 20 minutes for the bookstore) pass and especially for the music academy I feel like the tension was properly spread in these 3 hours.Įveryone in the team will get the full experience. You can also take breaks if you need them but we didn't feel like it. I feel like the flow was smoother in this one and also the storytelling was better. ![]() The music academy -180 min was really something special and different, just hold on with the room if you ever feel tired or like you're stagnant because it's worth it. ![]() I suggest you first play the mansion because the bookstore is the second part of the story and you'll probably enjoy it better if played in order. ![]() They were like normal escape rooms with interesting and appropriate puzzles, but the plot was crazy cool.įor the bookstore -200 min, althoguh not necessarily very technologically advanced, the transitions from one game space to another and the way the story unfolded were very cinematic. The story and the way it was presented (in both rooms) was so satisfying and well executed. We've played the bookstore and the music academy because we sadly had to cancel the mansion (we'll have to come back to Athens sometime and play it). ![]()
